2020 Vision

Sitting here on December 29, 2019, and thinking, “WOW! where did this year go?”  Is it me or do the years seem to go by faster and faster the older we become? I remember being a kid and feeling like it took FOREVER to get to my birthday and Christmas. Even the breaks from school seemed to last an eternity. Now, I blink and another year passes by. It only proves how time as we know it is merely an illusion and based on perception.

As a new year knocks on the door, I like to sit in silence for a moment and reflect on all the lessons the current year has taught me. If you read my birthday blog post, you know I also like to do this exercise on my birthday. I like to take inventory of all the moments, be it good ones or bad ones, and think about how they helped me grow into a better version of myself.

Looking back on this month in particular, when I was coming up with the vibe for the Xio Bag, I kept picturing a crystal ball and the thought “crystal visions” came to mind. I later came across a quote that read “Look beyond the illusions and embrace your divinity.”   What a message from the universe on clarity! 2019 really shook me up spiritually and called me to dive deeper into who I truly was and how I wanted to share my passions, visions, and light with the world. What a full circle moment when I think about the fact that 20-20 stands for perfect vision. It’s almost as if the universe was reminding me ( and all of you) to prepare for 2020 by getting crystal clear about who we are, who we want to become, the life we want to live, our goals and our intentions.

With all of that being said, if there was ever a year to do a vision board, this year is it!  What’s a vision board you ask? It’s a collage of images, quotes, poems , drawings trinkets, etc... that help you display and visualize the life you want.  If you’re familiar with the law of attraction, you know that what we focus on expands. When you create a vision board based on things that bring you true joy/happiness and place it in a space where you see it often, you drift into a place of imagination and allow the vibration/ frequency of what it would be like to have those things or live that life become your reality.  In getting older, some of us forgot what it was like to imagine. So many of us were told that as we age it's time to “get real,” or “stop daydreaming,” but  the FACT is that visualization is one of the strongest ways to manifest your desires. It is when we imagine or VISUALIZE ( since we're "adults" now and need a fancier term) that we step into the realm of possibility and into the frequency of joy. It is that frequency which helps us attract more joy.

Now that we’ve covered the deeper meaning of the board, let’s get into the basics. How do we make one? Vision boards can be virtual like a Pinterest board or a collage that you turn into a phone or computer wallpaper.  You can find inspiring photos online and create collages using any free apps like Canva. They can also be physical like a small poster board you display on your desk or a small cork board collage that you have hanging in your room.

There is no right or wrong way to make one because the board is meant to be very personal.  However, it is essential that you take a moment to sit with your thoughts, reflect , open your heart and get clear on what you want 2020 to bring you.  Ask yourself why you want these things, how will they make you feel and help you become better. You need to be crystal clear on your intentions for each vision because without this clarity, the goals will be harder to attain.

Pick images that help you visualize those goals and dreams.  Do you want to go on vacation? Add pictures of places you want to visit. Do you want to manifest more loving relationships ? Maybe add quotes that make you feel the love or joy you want to receive from those relationships or pictures of couples/ friendships.  Do you want to expand you knowledge and awareness? Add pictures of books you’d like to read. Keep in mind that the key to the board is to look at the pictures everyday and to take a moment to visualize and step into the feelings of joy. Making the board and never looking at it isn’t going to help you but doing this visualization exercise daily, even for just a short moment, will bring you one step closer to manifesting the life you desire.

In the words of Oprah, “ Create the highest, grandest vision for your life because you become what you believe.”  2020 calls for clear vision. Let’s answer the call from the universe together and clearly envision the life we want!  Wishing you a joyous and prosperous new year. Dream big dear ones.

With love, light & a little magic,
